Seeing the world through new eyes: Transfiguration Sunday 2018

Traveling in the Holy Land we visited places where Christians have been worshipping for more than 1500 years. Those places touch you and change you and help you see the world differently. Mostly what is left there are stones, ancient stones. But there are also living stones, the people of the place living there today. Encountering them, hearing their stories and the challenging realities of their lives chances you as well.

In the Transfiguration account Jesus is changed and the disciples see him in a new way. In the Holy Land our eyes were opened to see the world there in a new way as well. But you don’t have to leave home for that to happen. Open your eyes and watch, open your ears to listen, open your heart to compassion and you will be changed and the way you see the world will be changed.
